Girls Inc. of Johnson County is searching for more volunteer mentors to help in a variety of its programming.
The organization will conduct volunteer orientation and training from 4 to 5 p.m. Thursday at its facility at 220 E. Madison St., Franklin.
Those interested will be asked to fill out an application, and Girls Inc. organizers will conduct a criminal history background check before approving volunteers.
“Mentors and role models serve as a foundation for the Girls Inc. experience,” said Sonya Ware-Meguiar, CEO of Girls Inc. “Mentors inspire girls to believe in their potential and value their strengths, and they give them the skills and confidence to achieve the goals they set.”
Volunteers are needed to help with after-school programs such as homework help and conducting arts-and-crafts classes.
