Get to know an officer over cup of tasty coffee

Follow Daily Journal:

The Greenwood Police Department is inviting residents to drink free coffee with police officers and ask them questions.

Most residents typically meet the police during a traffic stop or an emergency, so the event this week provides the opportunity for them to meet the police and ask questions in a more comfortable setting, assistant chief Matthew Fillenwarth said. Chief John Laut, Fillenwarth and other uniformed officers will drink coffee and chat with residents at the event.

Coffee with a Cop is scheduled for 9 a.m. Wednesday at the food court in Greenwood Park Mall. The mall security office has donated the coffee for the event.

Most mall stores don’t open until 10 a.m., but the mall will be open for Coffee with a Cop.
