Season-high performances in receptions and receiving yards have earned Franklin College senior split end Kyle Linville recognition as the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference’s Offensive Player of the Week.
It is the second time this fall that the preseason All-American has been honored by the league office.
Linville had 16 catches for
200 yards in Saturday’s 64-14
victory at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
He capped Franklin’s first two scoring drives with seven- and eight-yard touchdown receptions.
The victory gave the nationally ranked Grizzlies sole possession of first place in the HCAC with a 5-0 league record.
Linville holds every single-season and career receiving record in Franklin gridiron history. He recorded 200 receiving yards in a game for the second time in his career, tallying 204 yards against Anderson University during the 2011 season.
So far this season, Linville has caught 54 passes for 764 yards and 10 touchdowns.
