A group trying to promote early childhood literacy in Franklin is coordinating a citywide reading event next week.
On Tuesday, Franklin READS is partnering with area day cares, preschools, Franklin schools, the Franklin library, nonprofits and businesses so that 2,000 children can hear the story “Silly Sally” by author Audrey Wood. The goal is to promote the importance of literacy in the community.
Anyone who would like to participate but who cannot find the book can have their child listen to it by calling the Community Alliance for Preschool Education storyline at 738-8779.
Anyone with questions can contact Dawn Underwood at 738-0055, or firstname.lastname@example.org.
