Franklin College student accused of dealing pot

Follow Daily Journal:

A Franklin College student was arrested Monday after police found marijuana in his dorm room.

Tyler Henkle, 22, of Seymour, was arrested on a charge of dealing marijuana after police found marijuana, a large amount of plastic bags and a scale in his room, Franklin Police Department Lt. Kerry Atwood said.

Franklin College security officers called Franklin police after they found Henkle smoking marijuana in his room in Hoover Hall, Atwood said.

Officers searched the room and found the items in Henkle’s safe, Atwood said.

Franklin College Dean of Students Ellis Hall declined to discuss the incident or the student, but said using or possessing illegal drugs is a violation of college policy, and students who violate the policy will go through a judicial process.

Henkle, 516 S. Walnut St., was taken to the Johnson County jail, where he was released on $8,000 bond.
