Franklin College runner earns academic honors

Franklin College senior track and field athlete Anna Murdock has earned all-academic honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association for the 2013-14 season.

Murdock qualified for the 2014 NCAA Division III outdoor national championships and was named the 2014 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Outdoor Female Track Athlete of Year.

Eligible student-athletes for the academic award must have a 3.30 or higher cumulative grade-point average. A student-athlete also must have competed in an NCAA indoor or outdoor championship, or finish the regular season ranked among the nation’s top 35 in an individual track and field event.

Murdock has a 3.53 GPA after three years of studying international business.
