Franklin College has been recognized for campus involvement with Habitat for Humanity.
The college was presented the Caring Heart Award from the organization in October at the annual More than Houses Breakfast in Greenwood.
The Caring Heart Award is given every year to an individual, organization or group that exemplifies the mission of Habitat for Humanity through volunteering, leadership, fundraising or advocacy efforts.
In 2006, Franklin College students worked to establish a Habitat for Humanity affiliate in Johnson County.
The college continued its support for Habitat in the years since. Recently, a team of 20 women Franklin College employees raised money and worked the Habitat Women Build in Franklin. College faculty, staff and students also served as volunteers for the Soup Bowl Benefit, the Chili Challenge, the More than Houses fundraising breakfast and numerous home building projects.
