Franklin College will host an open house for its new Arts Café on Dec. 1.
The open house from 1 to 5 p.m. will be at the café, 66 Water St., in Franklin, and is a part of the city’s holiday lighting festivities.
The café was created through a partnership between the City of Franklin and Franklin College with the goal of having a place where students and community members could connect.
The café includes a student art gallery, coffee and specialty drink and food offerings, and college-themed apparel. Local restaurants including Athens Restaurant and Steakhouse, Benjamin’s Coffeehouse and Don and Dona’s also will have some items for sale.
Throughout December, the café will have shortened hours, but organizers anticipate the café eventually will be open from 2 p.m. to 1 a.m. daily.
