Film screening to aid dog-rescue organization

Follow Daily Journal:

A pair of Greenwood filmmakers will screen their short movie “Metanoia” today to help abused dogs in central Indiana.

Jeremy Harvey and Joe Leavell will host a screening party at 7 p.m. at Buffalo Wild Wings, 1077 N. Emerson St., Greenwood.

The restaurant has agreed to donate 15 percent of meal sales to the Casa del Toro Pit Bull Rescue. The Indianapolis nonprofit group rescues abused dogs and works with the community to alleviate misconceptions about pit bulls.

Donations also will be accepted. “Metanoia” is the movie Harvey and Leavell created for the 100 Hour Film Race, a New York-based competition giving filmmakers less than four days to make a movie.

The creative team behind the movie will find out today if they’ve been accepted to the top level of the competition.
