Four Franklin College women’s soccer players have earned Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference postseason honors for their performances during the 2013 season.
Senior Vanessa Benham and junior Kayla Dragstrem were second-team All-HCAC selections. Freshman Audra Lane received honorable-mention accolades, while junior Rachel Lucas was named to the conference’s sportsmanship team.
Benham, a forward, led the HCAC with 14 goals and 36 points this season. The Franklin Community High School graduate’s efforts helped the Grizzlies tie a school record with nine victories this fall.
Dragstrem ranked second on the team in scoring with seven goals and 16 points. She also added two assists.
Lane helped the defense post four shutouts in 2013. She also contributed to the team’s offensive attack, scoring two goals and providing one assist.
Lucas started all 18 matches as a defender and helped the team win six road matches.
