Police arrested a former Beech Grove schools wrestling coach after a short police chase.
Police arrested Nicholas Johnson Walpole, 25, 7536 Rooses Lane, Indianapolis, on Feb. 16 on two counts of resisting police and a charge of driving while intoxicated.
Walpole was an assistant coach and teaching assistant at Beech Grove High School. Superintendent Paul Kaiser said Walpole no longer is employed with the school corporation.
A Greenwood officer tried to stop a driver for speeding on Emerson Avenue. He continued driving, turned into a parking lot and ran his sport utility vehicle up a curb, according to the police report.
The driver got out of the car and tried to hide from police. Police used a Taser on him twice when he tried to run away, the report said.
Walpole was arrested and taken to the Johnson County jail, where he was released on $7,000 bond.
The Johnson County prosecutor will decide what, if any, charges to file.
