Event raises funds for cardiac screenings

Follow Daily Journal:

A fundraiser at Dye’s Walk Country Club will help raise money for cardiac screenings for local athletes.

The club will host the Bids for Heartbeats fundraiser for Giving Hearts a Hand, an organization dedicated to increasing awareness of heart conditions in young athletes. The group works to provide cardiac screenings to high school athletes at Johnson County schools. The fundraiser will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday and will include silent and live auction items for bidding, live jazz music, appetizers and drinks.

Tickets to the event are $30 for an individual or $50 for a couple. All the money collected will be used for raising awareness of undetected heart conditions through paying for cardiac screenings for area high school athletes.

For more information on reserving a spot at the event, visit givingheartsahand.org or contact Doug Meyer at 502-5652 or giving heartsahand@gmail.com.
