Emergency training planned at outlet mall

Follow Daily Journal:

Residents or morning shoppers shouldn’t be worried if they see police cars, ambulances and fire trucks at the Edinburgh outlet mall today.

Local emergency workers are doing emergency response training at Edinburgh Premium Outlets this morning.

People in the area may spot flashing lights and officers carrying weapons. The training is not a public demonstration, and is not open to the public. Passersby might see part of the training as it happens, but only emergency workers are allowed in the outlet mall area, according to a press release from the Edinburgh Police Department.

The emergency training should finish by 9:30 a.m., in time for shoppers to head into the stores when they open at 10 a.m. as usual, the release said.
