Hearts to Tom Funk and his staff at Hi-Way Lanes for partnering with us on our mom and son night at the bowling alley. Once again, this community event was a huge success. Thanks for all you do!

We are very impressed with the new ’50s diner, Knuckle Sandwich, that just opened for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It’s in the old D.Q. building in Waverly, at State Road 144 and State Road 37 intersection. The food and service is great. The ’50s decor is awesome. If you like ’50s music and atmosphere, you must check it out. Great job to Knuckle Sandwich.

A great big thank-you to our Daily Journal carrier, Sherri Stephens, for putting our paper by the door during the blowing snow. My husband broke his hip and cannot get to it. A great big thanks for going above and beyond the call of duty.

I just want to thank you for the coverage of all of Johnson County athletics and athletic programs. I am especially pleased with your March 4 coverage of the Franklin College Grizzlies swim team and their meteoric rise as a Division III swimming power. It is most impressive that a school that does not offer athletic scholarships and does not have a pool on campus can attract the caliber of student-athletes they have on the swim team. Congratulations to coach Andy Hendricks and members of the Franklin College swimming team.
