Police used a Taser on an Edinburgh man when he refused to get up for officers who were trying to arrest him.
Edinburgh police went to the home of Christopher Shane Starnes, 42, to arrest him on warrants from Johnson and Bartholomew counties early Wednesday morning.
Starnes refused to get up for police, and one of the officers used a Taser in order to get him to comply with officers’ orders to get off the bed, according to a police report.
Starnes was arrested and taken to the Johnson County jail. During a search, a plastic bag with cocaine fell out of his clothes, the report said.
He also was arrested on charges of resisting an officer, drug trafficking and possession of cocaine. The Johnson County Prosecutor will decide what, if any, charges to file.
Starnes, 602 S. Pleasant St., Apt. A, was being held at the jail on $27,000 bond.
