The Mid-State Amateur Radio Club in Johnson County is sponsoring a one-day technician license class on Feb. 8. The class begins at 8 a.m. in the Emergency Operations Center, 1100 Hospital Road, Franklin.

The eight-hour class is free but requires a $15 test fee at the end of the class for the license.

All students must pre-register. Seating is limited. Register at secretary@midstatehams.org.

The technician class license is the entry level FCC license for amateur radio.
