Dive team called after ATV spotted in creek

Follow Daily Journal:

A police dive team was called Sunday after a motorist noticed a partially submerged vehicle in a creek near Edinburgh.

A motorist saw the vehicle partially sticking out of a creek that was a few hundred yards from Interstate 65 near the 82 mile marker in Edinburgh. Police found an off-road vehicle that belonged to the property owner, Master Trooper Rob McKeeman said.

The Indiana State Police dive team was called in to investigate the vehicle as a precaution, but no one was injured. The owners were taking a break from trying to retrieve the vehicle and returned shortly after to continue that work, McKeeman said.

The state police dive team went into the water, but a nearby farmer helped get the vehicle out of the creek, Indiana State Police Sgt. Rich Myers said.
