Week Zero:

I am a former Greenwood Community High School student, former City of Greenwood pool lifeguard and a current senior at Ball State University. I am on a nine-week study abroad journey in the United Kingdom.

For the next nine weeks, I will be journaling every Wednesday about my adventures, including when I am immersed into the London Olympic atmosphere with BSU at the Games (check it out at BSUattheGames.com). I arrived Friday.

After a short flight from Indy to Chicago, a long five-hour layover and an eight-hour flight to Heathrow Airport, I am now in England. The weather is considerably cooler than Indiana, and much wetter.

I am writing this at 4 a.m. English time in my flat room at the Worcester Centre because I have not quite regularized my sleeping pattern.

Starting with Week Zero, I begin my nine-week journey to the Olympics (zero because they always start numbering with zero here in the United Kingdom).

The flight was not as bad as I had imagined. I made it in one piece without any of my luggage being lost. I brought two checked suitcases, one carry-on duffel and a backpack.
