Franklin College will host several campus events Jan. 21 to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday.
- The day will begin with the MLK Day of Service. Franklin College faculty, staff and students will travel to various non-profit agencies in Franklin to do volunteer work from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The public is invited to participate. Pre-registration is required by contacting the Office of Multicultural Services at 738-8119.
- A march around Franklin College’s campus will take place at 3:30 p.m. starting at Hamilton Library. A chapel service will follow the march at 4 p.m. in the Richardson Chapel.
- Convocation speaker Ebony Griggs-Griffin will present “His Hope + His Dream = Our Responsibility,” at 7 p.m. in the Richardson Chapel.
Griggs-Griffin is the founder of Moving Beyond Tolerance, a business created to train and consult around the areas of acceptance and appreciation of difference.
All events are free and open to the public.
