Classic car loaded on truck, stolen from home

Follow Daily Journal:

Police are searching for a classic car that was stolen from a home on Mauxferry Road.

A sheriff’s deputy was called to a home in the 1700 block of South Mauxferry Road after a door to the garage was left open. A green four-door 1953 Hudson Wasp had been stolen out of the garage, according to the police report.

A neighbor told deputies she saw two men pull up to the garage about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday and load the car onto a red flat bed truck. After the two men got the car onto the truck, they left the house and drove south on Mauxferry Road. She told police she thought the owner had sold the car, the report said.

Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call Detective Steve Edwards at 346-4617.
