Campers, boat targeted in Franklin burglary

Follow Daily Journal:

Franklin police are investigating after someone stole batteries and other items from eight campers and a boat.

Police were called to a storage lot at 3050 R.J. Parkway after the owner of one camper reported that someone had broken into his camper and stolen the battery. A Franklin officer walked through the lot and noticed that batteries had been stolen out of all eight campers parked there as well as out of one bass boat, according to the police report.

The thieves also went inside one camper and stole two flat-screen TVs, the report said. Police found a hatchet and some hand tools that may have been used by whoever broke into the lot.

Police believe the person had entered the storage lot through a hole in the fence, the report said.
