An Indianapolis man was arrested after police said he stole 12 guns from a Franklin home more than a year ago.
Travis Norris, 33, 1208 Beecher Drive, has been charged with one count of burglary. He was arrested Monday on a warrant.
In June 2013, Indianapolis police arrested Norris and another man who were driving a car that was reported stolen, according to a police report. Police found 12 guns inside the vehicle that were taken from a home located on U.S. 31, about a mile south of Franklin.
The homeowner was on vacation at the time, and when he came home he told police that 14 guns were stolen from his home, the report said. The serial numbers he provided matched the 12 guns that were found in the car, the report said.
The sheriff’s office arrested Norris on the warrant from a state prison in Putnamville, where he was serving a sentence for a recent felony conviction in Marion County, Johnson County Sheriff’s Office Col. Randy Werden said.
Norris was taken to the Johnson County jail and held on $20,000 bond.
