Planning a wedding can be one of the most exciting experiences of a couple’s life.
But it also can be stressful and overwhelming. Banquet halls need to be reserved, dresses have to be purchased, and a color scheme has to be settled on.
Worrying about whether to serve chicken or beef, and what kind of hairstyle to go with, can wash over what should otherwise be a happy time.
For brides looking forward to their big day, the Daily Journal will host a free bridal show from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday. Vendors will offer wedding ideas on everything from limousines to catering to honeymoon plans.
The show will be at Valle Vista Country Club, 755 E. Main St., Greenwood.
Organizers have attempted to bring together a wide variety of vendors to make planning the perfect wedding more manageable, said Chris Cosner, advertising director for the Daily Journal.
Catering companies from local companies including Jonathan Byrd’s Cafeteria and Bravo Cucina Italiana will provide a wide range of menus for any size wedding. Travel agencies can assist brides and grooms on the best place to celebrate their new union.
Wedding venues, including Appleworks and the Hilton Garden Inn, offer varied options for where to have the perfect wedding.
The show also will feature unique ideas that otherwise might get lost in the wedding planning shuffle.
Companies including Arthur Murray Dance Studios, Fred Astaire Dance Studio and 5 Star Dance Studios can provide lessons for brides and grooms in advance of their first dance.
Brides can make arrangements to have their hair and makeup done, set an appointment for spray tanning and pick out the perfect flowers.
In addition, gifts will be awarded to lucky brides-to-be throughout the show. Prizes including engagement photo sessions and gift cards will be passed out throughout the show.
Food samples and demonstrations also will be available.
