Police arrested a man after a woman was hit at the National Guard Armory in Franklin.
John Lopez, 51, Plainfield, was arrested on a charge of battery.
Lopez was attending a briefing at the armory, 325 Minuteman Way, at about 4 p.m. Sunday. After the briefing, a woman who also was at the briefing told Lopez she wanted to talk about some of what was discussed, but he walked away from her, a Franklin Police Department report said.
She followed him and told police that Lopez stopped in a hallway and then headbutted her. A man who was in a nearby office told police he heard the woman yelling at Lopez to stop and that, when he left his office, he saw Lopez headbutt the woman, the report said.
The woman had a cut on her nose, which was bleeding, bruises forming under her eyes, a swollen left jaw line and redness on the right side of her neck. Lopez had a bloody cut on his head, and police also found blood on the wall and desk where the argument happened, the report said.
Lopez, 504 Dan Jones Road, was taken to the Johnson County jail, where he was released on $1,000 bond.
