The Johnson County Commissioners are looking for residents who want to help manage the county library district’s finances and make decisions about future library projects.
The term for the commissioners’ appointment to the library board, Jim Admire, is expiring, and they are asking for letters from other interested residents. Admire has submitted a letter asking to serve again, but the commissioners would like to consider other candidates as well.
Board members are appointed for a four-year term, and the position is unpaid. The library board is responsible for managing the district’s annual spending, setting policies and making decisions on large projects such as facility upgrades or renovations.
Residents must have lived within the Johnson County Public Library district for two years and must not have served more than four consecutive terms on the board before.
Letters of interest should be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org or mailed to
Brian Baird, chairman; Johnson County Board of Commissioners; 86 W. Court St.; Franklin IN 46131. Letters are due by March 17, and the commissioners will make a decision at their meeting on March 24.
