Animal rescue team recruiting new members

The Johnson County Emergency Management Agency is recruiting new members for its animal rescue team.

The team rescues pets and farm animals from disaster areas and cares for them until they can be returned to their owners.

Because emergency shelters don’t allow pets, owners can be assured their animals are being cared for until both humans and animals can return home.

The group was instrumental in assisting with animals during the 2008 flood.

For more information about joining, call the county emergency management agency at 736-9064; or email Include your name, phone number and email address.
