Adult spelling bee set at Franklin College

Follow Daily Journal:

Spelling bees aren’t just for grade-school kids.

Grown-ups can compete in their own contest this month to see how well they can spell during a fundraiser for the Johnson County Library Adult Learning Center.

The learning center will host its eighth annual adult spelling bee at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 15 at the Branigin Room at Franklin College. This year’s theme is “What’s Your Literacy Goal?”

Teams of three, ages 18 and older, will compete to raise literacy awareness. Community members are encouraged to come cheer on the teams as they compete.

Registration forms are available at any Johnson County Public Library branch or online at pageafterpage.org/spellingbee. The registration deadline is Friday, and the cost per team is $33

The Friends of Johnson County Public Library, Franklin College and Johnson County Public Library sponsor the spelling bee.
