What: Indiana Senate District 37

Duties: State senators have the legislative authority of the state, vested in the General Assembly. They craft laws for the state. Every two years they have a long session and a short session. The long session during odd years is from January to May. The short session is January through March during even years. The state budget is crafted during the long session.

Salary: $22,616
