Dozens of firefighters and four fire departments battled a barn fire Friday morning on the southside.
The Indianapolis Fire Department was called to the two-story barn in the 8900 block of South Mitthoeffer Road around 6:19 a.m. No fire hydrants are in the area, so firefighters had to ask for tanker trucks from the Fairland Fire Department, Sugar Creek Fire Department and Moral Township Fire Department to help.
A total of 63 firefighters spent about an hour getting the fire under control. The cause of the fire, which caused about $100,000 in damages, is under investigation.
No one was injured.
