Two people have been arrested after police said they stole jewelry from a Greenwood home and sold it in Ohio.
Christopher Davis, 18, and Zachary Morris, 19, both of Mooresville, were arrested on a charge of burglary.
In November, a Greenwood resident called police after coming home and finding items spread out on the floor of her home. She also found the window to the back patio room had been broken and the sliding glass door was open, according to a Johnson County Sheriff’s Office report.
Several items were missing from a jewelry box in the home, and a safe that contained cash and collector coins also was gone, the report said.
Police later learned that Morris had sold some of the jewelry at a pawn shop in Springfield, Ohio. Morris had been working in the Greenwood house for about two weeks to install new floors and knew the code to get into the garage door, the report said.
Davis, of 6742 E. Warren Lane, and Morris, of 46 W. South St., are being held at the Johnson County jail on $20,000 bond.
