Hildagarde “Hilda” Koch Wyant, 93, of Greenwood, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving and devoted family on Saturday, June 16, 2012.
She was born in Ratingen, Germany, to Hans and Katrina Kleffner, on June 13, 1919. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Wilbert Koch, and her second husband, Harvey Wyant.
She is survived by son, Ronald (Linda) and daughter, Carol McElyea; three grandchildren, Dale (Ramona) Koch, Brian (Tina) McElyea, and Pam (Toby) Borders; two step grandchildren;10 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandsons.
Hilda was an avid reader, card player, a skilled pianist, wood carver and painter. She felt so blessed to have a devoted family and loved spending time with them. She also loved her pets, nature and the outdoors. She was a long-time member of Zion Evangelical United Church of Christ. She retired from the National Labor Relations Board.
The family wishes to thank Vista Care Hospice services for its’ wonderful care during mom’s illness. A special thanks to Heather, RN, and Mary Kay.
Visitation will be conducted at 5 to 8 p.m. today at G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home, 1605 S. State Road 135 , Greenwood with a service at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.
