Douglas Leigh Garrison, 63, of Indianapolis, passed away Saturday, July 17, 2010.

He was born Dec. 9, 1946, to Milton and Helen "Tudie" (Snyder) Garrison. He was a past fire chief of Nineveh Township Fire Department and retired from Morgan County Hospital as a respiratory therapist.

He was an active member of the Johnson County Firefighters Association and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was actively involved in genealogy of his family. His hobbies included genealogy, woodworking, trains, playing Wii and his dog, "Poppy," but his passion was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his loving wife of 41 years, Ann (Ohlrogge) Garrison; a son, Mike (Beth) Garrison; two daughters, Cara (Mark) Williams and Heather (Dave) Morgan; seven grandchildren, Tanner, Kelly, Sydney, Kyler, Kristen, Tayden and Adelyn; a twin sister, Debra Ann (John) Stover; and his mother, Helen Garrison.

He was preceded in death by his father, Milton Garrison.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home, 1605 S. State Road 135. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at the Gardens at Olive Branch Cemetery and Mausoleum Park in Greenwood.
