Rodger Allen Jones, 45, of Nashville, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2013.
He was born Nov. 12, 1967, in Beech Grove to Larry Richard Jones and Sharlene (Hayes) Wall.
Rodger was employed by AGM as a project engineer. He enjoyed rock climbing, canoeing, hiking and camping. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR and Indy 500 races.
His passion was coaching his kids’ soccer teams since they were 4 at Baxter YMCA, St. Francis and Center Grove soccer clubs. He coached his son’s soccer team, Beast Mode, to Wide World of Sports at Disney World, where the team placed in the top 15 of 300 teams.
His survivors include his wife, Corine of Indianapolis; three children, Ariana, Braxton and Colton Jones, all of Indianapolis; his mother, Sharlene (David) Wall of Nashville; his father, Larry (Donna) Jones of Florida; a sister, Tammy (Dan Shipley) Fish of Nashville; a nephew, Bryce R. Fish; mother-in-law, Erika Tesch; aunt, Emma (Ed) Merrick; sisters-in-law, Christine Cummings and Caroline (Donnie) Pate; and brother-in-law, Curtis Tesch.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Pauline Hayes Schoults, Norman Hayes and Dorothy and Jess Jones; and father-in-law, Opa Otto Tesch.
His service will be at 7 p.m. today at Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home, 1682 N. State Road 135, Nashville, with Rick Colglazier officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
