Donald E. Shaffer Sr., 86, died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013. He was a resident of Beech Grove.
Survivors include his wife, G. Fern Shaffer; five children, Jean Ann (Jon) Spaulding, Bud (Kathy) Lawrence, Teresa Keifer, Donna Kay McMillian and Donald (Janet) Shaffer Jr.; a brother, Harold Wayne (Nell) Shaffer; 13 grandchildren; and many great- and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, James Lawrence; three sisters, Mary (Doc) Farr, Margaret (Harold) Deem and Sue (Bill) Lutes; and his parents, Harry A. and Thelma (Verbick) Shaffer.
The funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at G.H Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home at The Gardens at Olive Branch, 1605 S. State Road 135. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, in care of the funeral home.
