The Rev. Gary J. McMillan, 63, of Whiteland, passed away Monday, Jan. 14, 2013.
He was born Sept. 22, 1949, to the late Fredrick Eugene and Ruth Clampett McMillan. Gary was a 1967 graduate of Decatur Central High School. He married Denine H. Downing on March 4, 1967.
He was employed with Allison Transmission Division of General Motors for 30 years, retiring in 2004. He then worked for Hubler Chevrolet for four years in parts delivery.
Gary was a member of Calvary Tabernacle for more than 35 years and for the past four years had been the pastor’s assistant at Apostolic Lighthouse Tabernacle.
Gary is survived by his loving wife of nearly 46 years, Denine H. McMillan; cherished daughters, Dawn L. (the Rev. Joseph) Sanders and Mary K. (Alex) DiCecco; a sister, Judy (Darrell) Rentsch; grandchildren, Datha R. (Caleb) Mahurin, Jessica M. Wright, Cody L. Meyer, Geoffrey K. Wright, Dylan J. Meyer, Aaron (Shayla) Sanders, Megan (Doyle) Smith, Cameron DiCecco, Stephen Sanders, Andrea DiCecco and Kyle DiCecco; and eight great-grandchildren.
Gary’s brother, Fredrick McMillan, preceded him in death.
A service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Sunday at Apostolic Lighthouse Tabernacle, 5240 S. Concord St., Indianapolis. Visitation will be from noon until the time of service Sunday at the church. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery.
