J.R. Mattingly, 80, of Greenwood, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013.
He was born Oct. 30, 1932, in Indianapolis to Patrick and Mary Christine (Rhoades) Mattingly. He was a graduate of Arsenal Technical High School, class of 1950.
He was a service station owner for many years.
He married Joyce Mae Haskell on Sept. 10, 1952; and she survives him.
J.R. also is survived by a son, Patrick R. Mattingly; four daughters, Pamela J. (Marvin) Guffin, Penny Vinson, Cindy (Scott) Splichal and Christine Vinson; a sister, Ella Mae Ostien; grandchildren, Josh (Shiying Dong) Guffin, Derek Guffin, Krystal Baker, Amy (Eric) Capozzi, Eric and Ryan Splichal, Megan Hager, Brody and Jordin Vinson and J.P. Mattingly; and five great-grandchildren.
