Lester E. Love, 81, of Indianapolis, died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, at Franciscan St. Francis Health in Indianapolis.

On Feb. 13, 1931, Lester was born in Cannelburg to Roy and Hanora (Bullock) Love. He graduated from Arsenal Tech High School and worked in the family business at Indus Wheel as a tool and die maker until going into the Army during the Korean War.

Lester retired from Allison Transmission in 1997 after 30 years. He was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Survivors include his son, Jeffery Love and granddaughter, Amanda Love-Davis.

Preceding him in death are his parents; wife, Johnie Mildred (Powers) Love; son, Joe Love; step-father, Joe Murray; brother, Paul J. Love; step-brother, Thomas David Murray and sister, Laverne Rose Love.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Southport Chapel, 7520 Madison Ave., Indianapolis. Lester will be laid to rest at Bayview Memorial Park in Pensacola, Fla.
