He was born June 10, 1964, in Indianapolis.
He is survived by his mother, Janice Bryant; a sister, Tara Birch; and a niece, Ashley Baer.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Oliver Cooper.
James enjoyed music, playing ping-pong, and spending time with his family.
Services will be private.
Arrangements were entrusted to Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Greenwood Chapel.
