Vonda A. Dunn, 90, of Columbus, died at 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at the Franklin United Methodist Com­munity.

Vonda was born on Feb. 18, 1922, in Johnson County to the late George A. and Golda E. (Roberts) Dunn. He owned and operated Vonda Dunn Asphalt Paving Co. and was a member of Bethel Holiness Church. Vonda proudly served in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed farming, growing fruit, fishing, hunting and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include his son, Richard A. (Bethel) Dunn of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two brothers, Mahlon J. “Bud” (Shirley) Dunn of Edinburgh and Marcus (Shirley) Dunn of Brown County; three sisters, Jean Castle of Florida, Doris Ferguson of Kokomo and Frances (Clifford) Emmons; two stepdaughters, Rhonda Ann Dunn of Brown County and Robin Dunn of Edinburgh; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, David and Joel Dunn; and two sisters, Ruth Oaks and Lucille Lucas.

A funeral service will be conducted at noon Monday at Bethel Holiness Church, 6060 U.S. 31 North, Columbus, with the Rev. Nathan Shockley and the Rev. Robert Thompson officiating. Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the church. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh, with military honors conducted by the Indiana Army Reserve National Guard Honor Guard and Bartholomew County Veterans Color Guard.
