Nina (Norman) Burton, 85, died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at her residence in Edinburgh.

She was born Dec. 4, 1927, to the late Foy and Dora Ann (Whitehead) Norman. She married Raymond Burton on Oct. 17, 1944, in Edinburgh. He preceded her in death on Sept. 7, 1997.

Survivors include two children, Lloyd E. (Pam) Burton of Bloomington and Lois (Rod) Steele of Columbus; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Janetta Gaskins of Taylorsville and Nan Cox of St. Petersburg, Fla.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Ronnie Lee and Kenneth E. Burton; four brothers, Wesley, Chester C., Lester and J.R. Norman; and two sisters, Norma Burton and Nancy Aldridge.

She was a member of Edinburgh American Legion 233 Auxiliary. She had worked as a press operator for Challenge Plastic Products in Edinburgh and previously was employed by Columbus Container and Amos Plastics.

The Rev. Terry England will conduct a funeral service at 1 p.m. Monday at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home, 302 E. Main Cross St., Edinburgh. Calling will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
