Ruth J. (Smith) Setser, 92, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin. She was a lifelong resident of Franklin.
She was born Aug. 31, 1920, in Franklin to Everett and Beatrice (Wetzel) Smith. She married Cale B. Setser on Feb. 23, 1940. He preceded her in passing after 68 years of marriage in 2009.
Survivors include her children, Larry Setser of Franklin, Clinton Setser of Trafalgar, Kayla (Ron) Hudson of Union, Ky., and John (Kandi) Setser of Franklin; a brother, Melvin Smith of Franklin; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in passing by her parents and her husband.
Ruth was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Franklin and the Order of the Eastern Star Franklin Chapter.
She enjoyed camping, boating, traveling, shopping and cooking.
The Rev. John Elliott will conduct a service at 10 a.m. Saturday at Flinn & Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton St. (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Friends can call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. An Order of the Eastern Star service will take place at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
