Eugene Luttrell, 83, of Greenwood, went home to meet his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at the home of his daughter, Linda.
Eugene was born Aug. 29, 1929, to the late Alvin and Mary (Roy) Luttrell in Casey County, Ky. He married Mary Naomi Beaty on Jan. 22, 1958. They were married for 52 years; and she preceded him death in 2010.
He was employed with Davidson Lumber Co. for 42 years, retiring in 2003.
Eugene loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed watching old westerns and going out to eat and to yard sales.
He attended Pilgrim Nazarene Church and enjoyed his fellowship with his church family.
He is survived by his five children, Linda (Glen) Runnells-McDaniel of Indianapolis, Danny Luttrell, Kathy Arnold and Robert (Brenda) Luttrell, all of Greenwood, and Patricia (Jack) Gonterman of Franklin; two sisters, Alice Luttrell of Kentucky and Evelyn Luttrell of Florida; a brother, Junior Luttrell of Kentucky; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a great-stepgranddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife; and four brothers, Delmar, Alvis, Otis and Welby Luttrell.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at Jessen Funeral Home, Whiteland Chapel, 729 U.S. 31 North. Friends and family can call from 11 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.
