James W. ‘Wes’ Alley
 

James W. “Wes” Alley, 33, died Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, in Indianapolis. He was a resident of Greenwood.

Wes was born Nov. 9, 1978, to James E. and Bonnie J. (Barnes) Alley in Martinsville.

He was employed in sales with The Tile Shop in Indianapolis.

Wes was a songwriter and musician, playing the banjo, guitar and mandolin. He enjoyed the bluegrass music scene and traveling the country in the music industry. He was the road manager for a year for country singer Marty Raybon.

Recently, he helped with a music fundraiser in Muncie for his dear friend, Lynn Waters, to help with her stem cell surgery in Spain.

He enjoyed fishing and loved spending time with his family.

Wes enjoyed and attended Westside Baptist Church in Muncie.

Survivors include his parents, James and Bonnie Alley of Whiteland; a sister Shaunda (Ryan) Luken of Florida; grandmother, Mary Rose Hylton of Tennessee; two nieces, Kaitlind and Hunter Luken; and his dog, Gibson.

He was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Lola Alley, Bedford Alley and George Barnes.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at Jessen Funeral Home, Whiteland Chapel, 729 U.S. 31 North. Friends and family may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery.
