Betty Irene Haymaker, 93, of Indianapolis, passed away Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012.
She was born April 20, 1919, to the late Forest and Alverta Lewis True.
Betty was a government employee for 65 years, retiring from the Gen. Emmet J. Bean Finance Center in Indianapolis in 2005.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the International Federation of Business and Professional Women.
She had a passion for traveling and saw the world taking pictures and collecting treasures. She loved the outdoors, spending many hours in her yard and flower gardens.
Betty is survived by a brother, Forrest “Bud” and his wife, Joyce Ryan True; nieces and nephews, Terry True, April Nicholson, Earnest True, Penny Beninger, Kelli Kappus, Janice Huntsman, Teresa Lain, Kathleen Krajcir and James True; many great-nieces and -nephews; and her beloved dog, Cuddles.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Rex (Cuttie) True and Earnest (Juanita) True; and nephews, Duane and David True.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home, 1605 S. State Road 135 and Olive Branch Road. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Betty will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.
