Margaret L. (Hensley) Sichting, 93, passed away peacefully Saturday evening, Oct. 27, 2012, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin. She was a resident of Martinsville and former resident of Morgantown.
Margaret was a life-long resident of Morgan County who was born on Sept. 18, 1919, in Green Township to the late Homer and Viva (Bailey) Hensley. She married Chester John Sichting on Aug. 5, 1936, in Martinsville. He preceded her in death on July 21, 1977, after 41 loving years.
Margaret retired in 1975 as a key punch operator with the American States Insurance Company in Indianapolis after 15 years of service. She was very active in the Morgantown Order of the Eastern Star, the Red Hat’s Club and the Martinsville and Nineveh senior centers.
Margaret enjoyed all crafts, especially oil and rock painting and quilting. She was a fan of the Indiana Pacers and enjoyed playing cards.
The most important thing in her life was her dedication to her children and their families.
She will be greatly missed by her children, Barbara (Bob) Brummett and Thomas (Libby) Sichting, both of Martinsville, Roger (Brenda) Sichting of Morgantown, Anthea (Philip) Arnold of Trafalgar, and Tony (Tina) Sichting of Nineveh.
Margaret will be remembered by her 21 grandchildren; six step grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren; 16 step great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; 12 step great-great grandchildren and several great-great-great grandchildren. Also remembering her will be her daughter-in-law, Kitty Sichting.
Margaret was preceded in death by two sons, Merrill Sichting and Teddy Sichting; one brother, Marvin Hensley; daughter-in-law, Sherry Sichting; one grandchild and two great grandchildren.
The Rev. Brett Baird will conduct a funeral service at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday at Meredith — Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry St., Morgantown. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. An Order of Eastern Star memorial service will take place at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Margaret will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens Cemetery in Greenwood.
