Louis Don Deck, 90, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis. He was a resident of Franklin.

He was born on June 8, 1922, in Marmanduke, Ark., to James Floyd and Mabel (Jones) Deck. He married Wilma Linthicum on Dec. 11, 1944. She survives.

Other survivors include his daughters, Rita K. Lory (Kevin) of Franklin; Alice L. May (Ray) of Franklin; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in passing by his daughter, Pamela Sue Deck and sisters, Margaret Crouch; Lynette Deck.

Don was the General supervisor of quality control at Allison’s Plant 8 for 30 years.

He was a more than 50 year member of Union Village Masonic Lodge; Scottish Rite Grand Lodge in Indianapolis and past president of the Franklin Flying Association.

Upon his retirement, Don and Wilma moved to Haines City, Fla., for 27 years. He enjoyed fishing, golf, flying his airplane and traveling.

A memorial service will be conducted at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton St., in Franklin. Friends may call from 3 p.m. until the service time.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Johnson County, 3827 Graham Road Franklin, IN 46131 or to the American Heart Association.
