Jerry W. “Tiny” Ward, 62, of Franklin, passed away Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis.
He was born Sept. 15, 1950, in Columbus, to the late Lester E. Ward and Mary (Hatchett) Cheek.
Mr. Ward retired in 2004 as a forklift operator for ArvinMeritor in Franklin after 36 years of service.
He was a member of the Franklin American Legion Post.
He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys, NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt Jr. and enjoyed being with his family and friends.
Survivors include a son, Darrell L. Lasiter of Whiteland; a daughter, Misty (Brian) Boucher of Franklin; two brothers, Clyde Randall (Siggy) Cheek of Virginia and Douglas L. (Ruth Traugott) Cheek of Tennessee; four sisters, Jody D. (Wayne) Coffman of Whiteland, Barbara Ward of Franklin, Penny Snyder of Florida and Connie Frazee of Columbus; six grandchildren, Mercedes Scott, Coltyn Scott, Chance Utterback, Chandler Boucher, Jaxson Lasiter and Derik Lasiter; and 14 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Larry E. (Barb) Ward; his stepfather, Clyde Cheek; and his stepmother, Sharon Ward.
A memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Sunday at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 S. Morton St. (U.S. 31 South) in Franklin. Friends may call from 5 p.m. until service time Sunday at the mortuary.
