Rebecca E. “Betty” (Bruner) Cline, 81, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012, at Franciscan St. Francis Health-Indianapolis. She was a resident of Brown County.
Betty was born May 31, 1931, in Menifee, Ky., to the late Charles Herman and Mary Bernice (Williams) Bruner.
She married Carlie “Calvin” Cline Jr. on Dec. 31, 1959, in Indianapolis. He preceded her in death on Sept. 19, 2002, after 42 loving years.
Survivors include her four daughters, Diane (Mark) Elkins, Greta (Ray) Burkhart and Angela Fletcher, all of Brown County, and Wanda Bruner of Columbus; two sons, Bruce (Debbie) Williams of London, Ky., and Bert (Barbara) Williams of Brown County. She will be remembered by her brother, Jimmy Joe Bruner of London, Ky.; 14 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Leah Ann Elkins; great-grandson, David Wayne Patton Jr. III; son-in-law, James A. Fletcher; two sisters, Barbara Ann Smallwood and Vera Lou Robinson; and four brothers, Charles Herman Jr., David Leon, Billy Dean and Kenneth Wilburn Bruner.
Betty was a loving mother and homemaker and attended the Garden Church in Franklin.
She was dedicated to her family and enjoyed cooking family meals. Betty was known for her homemade dumplings and chocolate pies. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and camping with her children. Becky also enjoyed sewing and quilting, working in her flower and vegetable gardens and visiting yard sales.
The Rev. Larry Manning will conduct a funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home, Cremation and Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry St. in Morgantown. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Unity Baptist Church Cemetery in Brown County.
