Lynn Oliver McTarsney, 84, passed away Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin. He was a resident of Franklin.
He was born April 8, 1928, in Franklin to the late Oliver and Charlene (Ford) McTarsney. He married Esther (Rogers) McTarsney on June 12, 1950, in Shelby County. She preceded him in death July 31, 1996, after 46 devoted years. Lynn went on to marry Rosemary (Headley) McTarsney on Nov. 27, 1999, in Nineveh. She lovingly survives.
Lynn also is survived by six children, Jack (Carol) McTarsney and Barry (Lisa) McTarsney, both of Franklin, Debbie (Larry) Bowman of Edinburgh, Crystal (Tom) Smith of Waverly, Brian McTarsney of Amity and Dawn McTarsney of Greenwood.
He will be remembered by six siblings, Delores Julian, and Floyd and Max McTarsney, all of Franklin, and Kathy Warner, June Fiesbeck and Charles McTarsney, all of Columbus; 14 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother; three sisters; and a son, Rocky McTarsney, on Oct. 12, 2012.
Lynn was a lifelong resident of Franklin, where he attended school, and served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired in 1985 as a forklift operator for the Kroger Co. warehouse in Indianapolis after 28 years of service. Before that, he worked for Arvin Industries in Columbus.
Lynn was a member of Shiloh Community Church in Franklin and Teamsters union in Indianapolis. He was active in the Nineveh Senior Center and enjoyed all sports and visiting flea markets and yard sales.
The Rev. Jim Moore will conduct a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home, Cremation and Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry St., Morgantown. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Nineveh Cemetery.
