Mr. and Mrs. Walter Umbarger of Greenwood, formerly of Bargersville, celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary Dec. 18 with a reception hosted by their sons and daughters-in-law.
Mr. Umbarger and his wife, the former Jackie Thompson, were married Jan. 18, 1942, at Whiteland Presbyterian Church.
Both retired in 1990 from their family business, Roy Umbarger & Sons.
Mr. Umbarger is a World War II U.S. Navy veteran who served in the Pacific theater.
The couple have two children, Marty Umbarger and Tom Umbarger, both of Bargersville; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
